McCutcheon Music is pleased offer a variety of group classes for students of all ages.

Classes currently offered:

Music Together (5 years of age and younger) – In these classes parents and their children experience songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play in a community centered environment.  For more information click here.


Beginning Guitar classes with the “Guitar Man”, Jim McCutcheon (children, teens, and adults) – In this class students will learn how to hold their guitar, basic playing techniques, strum patterns, songs, singing, and much more. Guitar Ensembles – These groups are open to intermediate to advanced guitar students.  For more information click here.


Beginning Ukulele Class – The class will include learning basic chords; singing along with steady beat strumming; simple song writing and a studio recital performance.  For more information click here.


Suzuki Strings of the Miami Valley (students age 4 and up) – The Suzuki method was developed in Japan. It has been called the “mother tongue” method because of its use of listen and learning the way children learn language. The Suzuki method thrives on parent involvement, and the combination of group classes and private lessons.  For more information click here.


KiddyKeys (Pre-School Age Students) – KiddyKeys is a fun, multi-faceted approach to teaching music to preschoolers.  For more information click here.


Beginning Band and Orchestra by Miami Valley Music Institute – Students will have fun, and challenging music experiences through private music lessons on an individual basis, in small group rehearsals and large ensemble opportunities.  For more information click here.
