McCutcheon Music is pleased offer a variety of group classes for students of all ages.

Classes currently offered:

Music Together (birth to children age 5) – In these classes parents and their children experience songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play in a community centered environment.  For more information click here.

Rhythm Kids (students 4 – 8 years old) – Rhythm Kids is the next musical step for your preschool or elementary age child! Each week, participants will sing, dance, and play rhythm instruments and music-based games.   For more information click here.

Beginning Guitar classes with the “Guitar Man”, Jim McCutcheon (children, teens, and adults) – In this class students will learn how to hold their guitar, basic playing techniques, strum patterns, songs, singing, and much more. Beginning Ukulele Class – The class will include learning basic chords; singing along with steady beat strumming; simple song writing and a studio recital performance.  For more information click here.

Suzuki Strings of the Miami Valley (students age 4 and up) – The Suzuki method was developed in Japan. It has been called the “mother tongue” method because of its use of listen and learning the way children learn language. The Suzuki method thrives on parent involvement, and the combination of group classes and private lessons.  For more information click here.

Beginning Flute Class (students in 6th grade and up) – This class, taught by Dr. Julie Baker, is designed for students who are brand new flute players. Topics will include head joint exercises, note reading, assembling the flute, and extending the range three skills.
